Modeling Storm Tracks with Changing Climate Conditions

With our synthetic storm track generator, CCC is investigating the variation of hurricane landfall risk with large scale atmospheric circulation features, such as vertical wind shear and steering flow. These features vary with short term climate fluctuations, such as the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and El Niño / Southern Oscillation (ENSO) patterns, and may vary with the changing climate.
