A national cement manufacturer wanted to corroborate claims by sales representatives that substandard sales revenues were due to adverse weather. CCC developed a series on monthly multivariate regression models, one for each of the 18 states, using historical revenue and meteorological data. Eight temperature and precipitation predictors were considered during the screening procedure. The final product allowed management to routinely reconcile recent sales with recent weather conditions.
